The True Meaning of Health and Fitness
Health has a very broad meaning when you think about it. It isn’t just about the mere physical health of our body or the absence of illness. It encompasses a lot of factors that contribute to the totality which is health. True health covers several aspects of our lives, not only limited to the physical aspect, but it also involves our mental health, emotional health, social health and spiritual health. It’s a holistic concept in which we can’t call ourselves completely healthy if one aspect isn’t at its best. It also means that once one of these aspects fail, the others will fall as well. It works hand in hand. So what is the real meaning of health and fitness? How can we be truly healthy and fit? Here are just some ways that you can keep yourself healthy.
It’s a known fact that exercise can bring a lot of benefits for our health. If you exercise, you strengthen your body in a number of ways that can help in preventing or decreasing the risks of developing certain health conditions like diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure and a lot more conditions. Taking an hour or two for a day for a session of jogging or even brisk walking can give you a lot of health benefits. It makes your cardiovascular system stronger and it also develops your musculoskeletal system into a better form.
But exercise isn’t just about physical exercise. You also have to exercise the mind as well. An excellent mental stimulation is by reading. It’s fast, it’s easy and it gives you the opportunity to hone your imagination. Pick up a book and start reading. It’s a fun way to pass the time and you’ll be getting a lot of ideas from them. Engage in other hobbies as well. You can learn how to play the bass guitar by looking up a great resource for online guitar lessons on the Internet. You can learn how to bake a cake from searching the steps online. The possibilities are just endless when it comes to mental exercise.

Socializing isn’t just going out and drinking. It’s more than that. Socializing is establishing a connection with people and how you keep your bond together. Communication is a crucial aspect in socializing. Keep in touch with friends and family often. Loneliness is a major factor in the development of depression which could worsen the status of your overall health.
Manage Stress and Relax
Stress is a natural occurrence in life. But the problem with most people is that they don’t know how to manage stress in a healthy manner. What usually happens is that they let themselves be overwhelmed by stress without giving themselves the chance to relax. Throughout the day, you can engage in relaxation techniques such as yoga, deep breathing or meditation. Exercise your skills in time management and avoid procrastination. Allowing yourself to be burnt out from work entails a lot of health hazards like developing cardiovascular diseases and even weakening your immune system. There’s no harm in taking a break to rest up. Visit lockon for more…
The Repercussions of Not Enough Sleep
It’s a given that sleep is one of the most important needs that every person has to have. In fact, it’s one of our primary needs that is included in the physiological needs found in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Without sleep, both our body and our mind suffer. While it is fine to miss out on a few hours of sleep, it is unhealthy to go for several days without sleep or not getting enough sleep. This can lead to a lot of problems like horrible mood swings, accidents and other health problems that may surface because you don’t get enough rest. What is it about sleep deprivation and our health? What are the most common health problems associated with not getting enough sleep? Here are a few of the most prevalent health problems when it comes to sleep deprivation.
High Blood Pressure
High blood pressure, also called as hypertension, is the abnormal rise in one’s blood pressure. This is brought upon by a number of factors like stress, caffeine intake, cigarette smoking or other factors that affect the cardiovascular system. Once you lack sleep, the blood vessels start constricting because your body doesn’t get the rest it needs. If this happens, the blood vessels get narrower and the blood flow inside grow faster and the pressure gradually builds up. This results in a high blood pressure reading. If you don’t get adequate sleep, you have an increased risk in developing cardiovascular problems associated with hypertension like coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction.
Cerebrovascular accident or stroke is more likely to happen to those who are deprived of sleep. Also called brain attack, cerebrovascular accidents happen when there is reduced blood flow to the brain. This results in decreased oxygen supply and nutrition to the brain tissues, resulting in a myriad of signs and symptoms that can later develop into a life-threatening situation. Since the brain itself is affected, several body systems are also affected by this change. Signs and symptoms like abnormal respiratory rate, heart rate and blood pressure may be present. Weakness, headache, drowsiness and confusion are also common signs and symptoms in stroke. Not getting enough sleep also puts a strain on your blood vessels, increasing the risk of developing a stroke.
Heart failure is one of the most deadly and now one of the most common conditions that lead to hospitalization and even death in people all around the world. This happens when the heart itself doesn’t receive enough oxygen through its coronary arteries. What is usually felt during this event is a crushing pain that is commonly described as “an elephant sitting on one’s chest” and often extends to the left arm. Other signs and symptoms may also include a sense of impending doom, an increased heart rate and respiratory rate, a rise in blood pressure, fatigue and nausea. And what happens when we lack sleep? The blood vessels have a tendency to constrict because of stress which usually happens when we’re deprived of sleep. Prolonged sleep deprivation can lead to life-threatening problems and heart failure is just one of them.
While emotional in nature, it can still develop from prolonged sleep deprivation. A number of studies have supported that those who don’t get enough sleep are more prone to develop depression. This comes from the disruption in the normal flow of the neurotransmitters in the brain. Once these neurotransmitters increase or decrease in amount, our mood changes and depression may be more than likely to develop.

Unhealthy Weight Loss or Weight Gain
When one experiences prolonged sleep deprivation, the body’s digestive and metabolic processes undergo a change. What happens is that the usual routine of the body is disrupted and the processing of carbohydrates, proteins and fats are disturbed. For example, the processing of cholesterol in our body usually happens at night when we’re already asleep. However, when we’re staying awake for a longer period of time, that process is disrupted and the cholesterol in our body stays instead of being processed properly. This results in unhealthy weight gain or even obesity. But there are also cases when sleep leads to weight loss since our body ends up using all the nutrients the body was supposed to store in reserve for emergencies. Since the body is using it all up for us to be energized during the time when we’re awake, we start to lose weight since the body is utilizing the reserve energy stores in the form of our adipose tissue or what we commonly refer to as fat.
Throughout the day, we use up our focus and concentration to do our work or to pay attention in school. Little by little, our brain is getting worked up and later get strained and tired at the end of the day. It declines function which warrants rest in the form of sleep. But when we lack sleep, our ability to concentrate decreases significantly because the brain is not properly rested; this results in a worsening performance in school and at work. Going about through the day while groggy and sleepy won’t allow you to produce adequate results since your body can’t keep up with the demands of your work.
Risk for Injuries
One of the major repercussions of not getting enough sleep is getting injured or getting into accidents. Drowsiness and listlessness are common signs of sleep deprivation. Once you feel these signs, your brain function decreases and you’re more prone into making mistakes at work or doing just any daily activity. For example, driving becomes a dangerous thing if you fall asleep on the wheel or even doze of for just a few seconds. There are also occupational hazards that you can incur like those working in factories can have their limbs pressed or stuck in machinery if they’re not alert; not only that, those who lack sleep are more prone to falls. May it be falling from the height of a bed or falling off a flight of stairs, it will still result into serious injuries if you’re not careful. Load more…
Moscow VPTC was established in January 2001 as an informal, non-profit organization whose objective was to unite virtual pilots of the Moscow region. VPTC goal was to organize joint virtual missions through local area networks (LAN) of the capital’s game clubs using the Flanker 2.5 flight simulator. Flanker 2.5 allowed players to fly modern, Russian combat aircraft such as the Su-27, Su-33 and MiG-29K.
VPTC command staff developed and implemented their own flight training syllabus based on the methods established by real world flying schools and air combat units of Russian Air Force. This has allowed virtual pilots to effectively prepare for missions without any prior knowledge of combat aviation.
Over a three year period, the center has successfully trained virtual pilots and has taken part in three All-Russian Flanker 2.5 Championships. During these competitions, they earned convincing victories and garnered the majority of nominations.

A pilot group was created on the basis of VPTC. This group performs air show-type flights, similar to those performed by real aerobatic groups of the Russian Air Force like the “Russian Knights” and the “Swifts.” The VPTC squadron has performed shows at the Moscow Aviation and Space Show MAKS’2003; the opening ceremony of Russian Computer Sports Cup; the Aviation Simulators Chkalov Cup held within the framework of the 1st Festival of Pilot Groups 2004; and other events.
In addition to the seven flyable aircraft of Lock On: Modern Air Combat, the Flaming Cliffs adds the Su-25T to the stable of aircraft.
Combat modes of the Su-25T include:
Close Air Combat, mode Fi0;
CCIP and CCRP modes to deliver unguided bombs and rockets against ground targets;
Fire and forget optically guided missiles and bombs for use against ground targets;
Semi-active laser-guided missiles and bombs for use against ground targets;
Infrared-guided missiles for use against ground targets;
Internal gun and externally mounted gun pods for use against ground and air targets;
Backup, optical aiming mode “Grid” (Setka) in case of malfunction of guidance systems
Su-25T Avionics Systems
The Su-25T has the ability to search for and attack moving armor. This grew out of the need of Russian armed forces for a specialized anti-tank aircraft. In 1976, the USSR Council of Ministers issued a resolution that began the planning of an all-weather attack aircraft with anti-tank capabilities.
The primary anti-tank missile system for the Su-25T was to be the “Vihr” — later the improved to the “Vihr-M” with a laser guidance. The main acquisition and targeting system, “Shkval”, provided automatic target tracking and targeting with the laser designator and range-finder termed “Prichal”.
For low light level operation, the Su-25T can be equipped with a “belly pod”, Low Light Television (LLTV) camera termed “Mercury”. This provides a night-time, electro-optical aiming system for “Shkval”.

Imagery from the aiming systems is transferred to the IT-23M Television Monitor (TVM), which is located in the upper right portion of the instrument panel. “Shkval” optics allow a 23x scene enlargement and “Mercury” provides a 5x scene enlargement. These assist in identification of distant targets: a house at 15 km, a tank at 8-10 km, and a helicopter at 6 km.
The integrated Electronic Warfare (EW) system provides detection and direction finding of air, ground, and naval radar emitters, with an accuracy of +/- 30 degrees in azimuth. The EW system can detect and classify radars emitting in the 1.2-18 GHz bands. Adjustable, Electronic Attack (EA) jamming can be used to reduce the effectiveness of weapon control radars operating in continuous wave and pulse modes. EA pods can be fixed to under-wing suspension hard points. For protection against infrared-guided missiles, expendable flares are used. The Su-25T is equipped 192 flare cartridges. Also for protection against infrared-guided missiles, the electro-optical jamming system “Sukhogruz” is installed in the tail section of the aircraft. This powerful, cesium lamp, with an energy consumption of 6 kW, creates an amplitude-modulated jamming signal that prevents infrared-guided missiles from guiding.
To engage air defense radars, the Su-25T can be equipped with the target designation pod “Viyuga” or “Phantasmagoria.” This allows the Su-25T to designate targets for anti-radar missiles such as the Kh-58 and Kh-25MPU. Read more…
